Inaugural Panel Discussion: Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

November 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

By the early nineteenth century, Bostonians were avidly collecting Dutch art and artifacts, and the first Dutch paintings entered the MFA’s rich collection more than 150 years ago. The strength of these holdings was dramatically enhanced in 2017, when collectors Eijk and Rose-Marie van Otterloo and Matthew and Susan Weatherbie gave and pledged their collections of Dutch masterpieces to the museum, at the same time establishing a center for the study of Netherlandish art. To inaugurate the exhibition Dutch Art in a Global Age: Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine ArtsBoston, collectors, curators, and a conservator will join to explore the history, interpretation, and care of these remarkable holdings.

Priority admission for Kimbell members who present a current membership card begins at 9 a.m.; general admission to the auditorium opens at 9:30 a.m. Seating is limited.

Welcome
